Armen Harutyunyan, doctor of law, professor.
Date of birth 8 March 1964.
Since March 2014 ArmenHaruyunyan works as the Head of the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
Previously Mr.Harutyunyanworked as a lecturer of constitutional law of Republic Armenia (RA) and comparative constitutional law in the Yerevan State University, American University of RA and French University of RA. In 1999 and 2002 he was the Dean of the Law Faculty of the Russian - Armenian (Slavic) University and after that, between 2002 and 2006 he was the Rector of the Academy of Public Administration of the Republic Armenia.
Before he was elected to the post of the Regional Representative of OHCHR (High Commissioner for Human Rights) for Central Asia in 2011, the National Council of the Republic of Armenia elected him to the post of the Ombudsman of the Republic (2006-2011).
Between 2002 and 2011 he was the Vice-representative of RA in the European Commission “For Democracy through Law” of the Council of Europe (the Venice Commission).
ArmenHarutyunyan was a member of Constitutional Commission of Republic Armenia and representative of the President onthe Constitutional Reform.
Mr. Harutyunyan published eight monographs, two textbooks, one manual, and several tens of research papers; he is a co-author of two textbooks. 22 candidates of law passed the defence under his supervision.
